Educating and Empowering Afghan Girls

Dewa Trust Foundation: Educating and Empowering Afghan Girls

In Afghanistan, the school year for girls has been overshadowed by political upheaval, social hostilities, and restrictive laws that have severely limited access to education. While education is a fundamental human right, millions of Afghan girls remain out of school -robbed of the opportunity for a brighter future. Education is more than literacy; it empowers young women to participate in society, achieve financial independence, and assert their rights.

As the world watches with heavy hearts, expressing solidarity with the girls of Afghanistan, we must go beyond words. Now more than ever, it is vital to act – to ensure that Afghan girls can continue to learn and grow, even in the face of adversity.
At Dewa Trust Foundation, we are breaking barriers and opening doors to education for Afghan girls. Since 2016, our approach has blended technology-based learning with community-driven schooling to create alternative educational pathways. Our programmes offer young women and girls access to knowledge and skills even when traditional schools are inaccessible.

Through innovative online platforms, we support girls in continuing their education despite school bans. We also provide practical training for Afghan women, fostering financial independence and equipping them with sustainable, marketable skills.
At Dewa Trust Foundation, we remain committed to empowering Afghan girls and women through education, ensuring that dreams are not deferred, even in the most difficult of circumstances.
